Painting Competition Entrants.
Tomohiro Itakura らくだ屋. Demon Orc. Oathmark Orc infantry and Frostgrave Demon. This is a great example
of how a limited colour palette can still deliver a strong visual impact. The unsettling effect is well executed.
Douglas Hooker. Bot Expert. Stargrave Robotics Expert. The grimy, weathered look is spot on, the rust effect
is especially well done, adding a real sense of age and decay. The well detailed base pulls everything together.
Steven Bergmann. Stuv Bergmann. Scavenger. Mix Oathmark and Stargrave plastics. The check band is
totally JB, and tells us exactly where the inspiration for this well painted scavenger is from.
Nigel Maddaford. Scavenger. Stargrave Scavenger. The muted tones create a cohesive and well-balanced
look, and the detailing on the machine gun is particularly effective, very convincing work!
David Coombes. It's the future and it went wrong. North Star 1672 plus bits from Frostgrave Wizards and
Soldiers sets. Love these. Not only is the 1672 range my favourite, but the conversions and choice of colours is
really reminiscent of early JB work, work that heavily inspired a young Nick. Great stuff.
Simon Fairweather. @simon_fairweather IG. Spectral Soldier. Silver Bayonet. Beautifully done, and a
selection of colours that I wouldn't have expected from those box sets, lovely base.
Sarah Dyer. Herald of the Red King & Wraith Knights. Frostgrave. My favourite Frostgrave Wraiths. Very
nicely grimdark-ed. The textured finish is expertly balanced. A well-considered approach that adds real depth!
Andrei-Cristian Gheorghe. Borock. A horrific amalgam of gnoll and minotaur Frostgrave. This model
presents a real challenge, but it’s been handled with precision and skill. A well-deserved winner!
Brian Dowling. Vanguard. Frostgrave: Ghost Archipelago. I wasn't expecting to see Ghost Archipelago in the
Grimdark category, this was a great surprise. Nice dark metalwork, great grim base.
Samuel Fradsham. Five Cultists. Frostgrave Cultists. Our Cultists are the grimmest of the North Star figures,
and these examples are wonderfully painted and capture the darkness of the evil cultists perfectly.
