The North Star Master Class:

JB Painting Competition!

The rules are as follows.

There are two categories.

Category One.

The Grimdark Style. The figure in this

category must be painted using only the

colours from the Army Painter Box Sets:

Masterclass: John Blanche Vol.1 & Vol. 2. If

you have bought the sets from us we'll know

already, if you haven't please photograph your

miniature entry in front of the boxes. If you want

to know what a 'Grimdark' style is, then read

the card in the box set from Mr Blanche

himself.

Category Two.

The non-Grimdark Style. The figure in this

category must be painted in the most un-

Grimdark fashion you can think of. Bright,

colourful and on the side of 'Good'. Think

Lancelot, Capt. Kirk, Elrond, Tom Bombadill,

Captain Klenzendorf, Erol Flynn's Robin Hood,

you know what we mean, leave off the Skulls

and forget the mud. You can use any paints,

there is no restriction.

You are restricted in what figure can be used

as an entry. It must be from one of the North

Star ranges. This includes all the figures that

are titled 'North Star', like 'North Star 1672', or

any of the North Star/ Osprey Games ranges.

These are listed here:

figures

You can use any undercoat on the figure, and

you can paint the base using any colours.

You need to photograph your unpainted figure

and post it in the group or message us to show

the figure was painted in the competition

period.

You don't have to purchase new figures for

the competition, if you already have suitable

unpainted figures in your collection,

photograph them to enter.

The Painted Entries will be judged by North

Star's World Famous Kevin Dallimore and

Michael Anderson.  They will also pick out a

'Special Mention' entry in each category,

where the judges feel the painting might not be

technically the best, but there has been an

outstanding use of colours.

MASTER CLASS: JB PAINTING COMPETITION

To enter you must submit a photo of the

model/models.

Once your entry is finished, you must email a

photograph of the model/models to us. It must

be a high quality photo and be unfiltered. Sent

the photo landscape not portrait. You must give

the photo your name and send it to email

entries to northstarfigs@gmail.com. You

can send up to 5 photos of the entry. You will

receive a confirmation, if you don't get a

confirmation with 2 days, email again as you

must have the confirmation.

April. Any entries received after that date

won't be allowed in the competition.

The judges decision is final.

Star website. First place in each category
