THE WINNER – SINGLE FIGURE
Charles Kirkpatrick. The Experiment Escapes!
We’re truly grateful to everyone who took part in the Automaton Painting Competitions.
The creativity, skill, and effort you poured into your entries were nothing short of inspiring. Rich and Kev
had the tough job of selecting the winners, supported by a few opinions from the rest of us, and it was no
easy task. The standard was incredibly high, and every submission brought something unique to the
table. Our judges were genuinely impressed, and we’re thrilled to celebrate some very deserving winners.
To all who participated, thank you for making these competitions such a success. And a special shout-out
to those who entered both categories, you went above and beyond!
THE WINNER – 5 FIGURE UNIT
Simon Fairweather. Flybotz.
PAINTING
COMPETITION
Top-tier work with a real edge. The finish is razor-sharp, with detailing that sings; those chips, cuts, and blood
effects are pure cinematic grit. That orange is a total standout, and the pale flesh is highlighted like a pro, with
eerie finesse. It’s got drama, precision, and just the right amount of menace. A masterfully executed piece.
Clever conversions that stay true to the Automaton aesthetic, Well painted using bright colours to emphasise the
craziness of the group, Unified basing ties the unique models together beautifully, Just great fun to look at and
will draw attention every time he uses them. A force to be reckoned with.
